  Stayed at McLeod Ecofarm 2 nights in May 2015 with 6 friends to do some walking. We all just loved it. Very much a value for money establishment. The accommodation was just right for our needs, warm beds, hot showers, large lounge with open fire and heaps of wood to burn, bid dining room and a large well equipted kitchen. However, what really just blew us away were the meals that Melinda and Mark cooked for us and served in the guest house. Heaps of organically grown fruit, vegetables and meats. For the two evenings we had a main and a desert, breakfast was plentiful either a continental or a cooked, and lunch 1 day was a lovely salad sandwich and the last day was a plentiful tapas. Melinda and Mark and their two lovely helpers were so gracious and helpful, we are going back in March 2016. Thanks guys, you are awesome.

  A place you can feel 'away from it all' but only a short ferry ride from Stony Point. Very scenic. Check which roads you can cycle on before you set out.

  Very minimal sevices available on the island. If you don't mind isolation it's a peaceful place and there are lots of birds and koalas to catch a glimpse of. Just be sure to bring your own hiking eqipment, snacks, emergency gear and water. You can hire a bike at the general store but it is several kilometers to get anywhere in the national park and you will hardly see anyone. The Roads are very bumpy, loose dirt so you will need to be in good shape to walk or bike on them. French Island national park is only accessible by inter-island ferry leavibg from stony point jetty near Crib Point on the Mornington Peninsula. Summer is tourist season. The ferry may be cancelled if the weather is too windy.
